Welcome to the Novaris Lore Book
What is Novaris?
Novaris is a science fiction setting I've been working on since 2023. I have a passion for world building both fun and realistic places. I've build several aliens, a modest star map, and the dozens of worlds that these aliens inhabit but there is still much work to be done before the map is even close to full. If you find that there is a gap you are encouraged to make suggestions on how to fill it.
What is a Lore Book
A collection of data important to Novaris. Things here are canon but you'll find this is a living document with inconsistencies and contradictions, over time these will be ironed out but don't count on it, when in doubt goes with whatever seems more recent or better written as these are often the same thing.
Vibes
Novaris is meant to be a home to anyone or thing that enjoys hard science fiction. This setting contains nothing of the real world but plenty of things that mimic it. The stories told in this setting will be as small as personal stories that have no impact on the galaxy at large and all the way to galaxy defining events. Novaris is being crafting in such a way that any genre or story type could find a home here so long as they play by the same basic rules.
I, the creator of Novaris, am most interested in Space Operas and grand scale stories with small personal stories to augment those so that is my focus when looking at Novaris but I am looking for other Lore Masters that have high levels of knowledge about the setting and desire to write other aspects.
The Plan
Phase 1: Foundation
This is where Novaris currently is and has been here for years. Building the people and places of the story, building out the various critical technologies and everything that makes a Setting unique and alive.
Phase 2: Start up
Starts by establishing the "art fund" and "marketing fund". At this point I will begin filling these myself with a even split ratio and any money I make will do the same. Art Fund will go primarily to 2D artist to help add color to the Novaris Universe where the Marketing Fund will primarily go towards Content Creators to help spread awareness about the Setting. I will also start up a Patreon page where I write short stories in the setting and do early releases of art as well as holding votes on which art to make. I will also start posting on social media with any revenue from that going to the Funds.
Phase 3: Proper Company
When Phase 2 grows to the point where its becoming a full time job, and I can support myself while keeping up with everything else I will hold a Patreon vote to establish the "Salary Fund" in which I will draw something like 4-6K/m and the split will be in thirds and each time the Salary Fund is capable of doing so, I'll hire someone new until we employ the whole world.
I have big ideas for Novaris in regards to a full scale company, but don't want to bloat this with hopes and dreams.
