Naming Guidelines
Common Names
Ultimately up to the founder/faction that found it. This is what the people of Novaris would generally call it.
Technical Name
In lore, this name is what a Data corporation calls these planets. I'll use these in the Lore Book for the sake of clarity and ease of use. While all notable locations would have a proper name, it would be impossible for me to write them all from the start and even if I did it would be confusing to those new to the setting. The Technical Name allows people to recreate the map in their mind more easily.
Example: PA8-1629-3
First Letter
Determines the body type:
P - Planet
M - Moon
A - Asteroid
S - Station
Second Letter
A - Atmosphere
N - No Atmosphere
While this letter originally identified if a place was habitable or not, the habitability of a place changes depending on who is asking the question, so we opted for the more general Atmosphere, a place with an atmosphere is, generally, habitable.
First Number
A 0 - 10 scale on population size. If any planet ever surpassed the 9, an 10 would be made. In that event the "First number" would be switched to "First pair of numbers".
0 - No souls permanently live here
1 - 1- 10K souls
2 - 11K - 500K souls
3 - 501K - 10M souls
4 - 10.1M - 1B Souls
5 - 1.1B - 10B Souls
6 - 10.1B - 100B Souls
7 - 100B - 500B Souls
8 - 500B - 1T Souls
9 - 1T - 10T Souls
4 digits
The location on the Sector Map, first two digits are the lateral, second two are the horizontal. 0000 is in the top left, counting down and to the right.
Last Digit
It's distance from its son. For the example, it is the 3rd planet from the son.
This is not an indicator of how hot/cold it is, but it would get you in the ballpark.
As a point of order, some planets will have moons and both have a colony. In this case they would have the same last digit, but one would have the P and one the M at the front, but otherwise could be identical. In the event there are two moons, or asteroids, that are important at the same location a letter may be added to the last digit. Ex: 3a and 3b. The letters are assigned arbitrarily by the analyst entering the data but there will be no gaps, no c without a b.

Using GAPS was this planet generated? The answer should be yes if details were made, but it may take time.
Capital Worlds are too complex for the above to really work, they were founded by whatever species was born there, you can find a huge array of people, places, and things there, the major cities are too numerous to mention, the economics would be "Capital World" since they're capable of building anything a star faring society may need, and its military significance is obvious and too numerous to mention casually.
In short, each Capital world deserves several deep dives and world builders disease could easily control this process. Instead a Summary is written and the rest relies on story telling and my brain. I'll add details as required.
