Volzon Dynasty

It is genuinely shocking to go back and look at lore I'd written for these guys and bring it forward. The Google Docs had two paragraphs that seemed to confuse them with the Vullities somehow, or the two factions had severe overlap.

I went back to the OneNote and found that they were apparently supposed to be quite religions, and I'm not sure I recall that being true in the mental lore I have for them, so I'm rewriting them from the ground up.

The short of it; historically the Gordinata, this factions primary species, were slaves to a ruling aristocratic group. To paint a picture, imagine a utopian city. Put a dense wall around it. Put the slummiest slums your brain can conjure outside those walls. Now switch to a scene where the slaves are working the fields with basic tools while the aristocrats use super high tech stuff to keep them in line. That's what the situation was. The slaves rebelled, suddenly and violently and the wave of violence quickly spread until the ruling class was toppled. The resulting anarchy was brutal. Warring clans would fight for control until one of them starting forming alliances and worked towards a peaceful end of the violence. Eventually the last warring clan that would not join the alliance was defeated. The winning alliance was built on the agreement that when all warring clans had been defeated they would work together to create the ideal governance system, and none of them would be in charge because they couldn't trust themselves and wanted better for their people. Obviously this wasn't super popular, but this was the side that eventually won. After all was said and done a family that had been an advisor for some time, but had a proven record of neutrality, was named the Pytoto, and his family would lead the Gordinata to greatness. The style of governance has been one of isolation and independence, mostly letting the citizens do whatever they want and building up a defense force to secure the rule. This style of leadership has been passed down the generations, and so far none of the Pytoto have been bad, which I can lore explain later.
