History

The Asida began grouping together because they were harder to kill in herds, it also made it easier to grow. Over time they formed Defense Bands, groups that would wander and defend themselves until their home was lost, then they would run. Eventually they stopped and were able to beat back their predators. Over time they grew to wage war against their predators, using technology and brilliance to trick and trap their foes. Still life was too difficult to do more than wage constant war.

They fled, then survived, then thrived. This began a warlord era where the strongest led and united other Asida in conflict against their predators. Due to their time fleeing pockets of Asida covered most of the large moon.

Once Thriving they overthrew their warlords in favor for something "more fair" and by now had made the advancement of capitalism. This "more fair" was a form of democracy, but the details are unimportant. During this era is when they had their industrial age and subsequently destroyed all predator creatures on their moon. They nearly stalled in their industrial age because of corruption and crony capitalism, overthrown by the youth without a long term vision. Too overworked to even consider the future but hungry enough to fight to the death. What resulted was anarchic capitalism. They had to rebuild everything and sat for some time rebuilding the industrial age in their dark age. Once the industrial age arrived the digital age was not far, ambition and lack of predators both internal and external, only competition and "honorable adversaries" pushed them towards the space age.

The current system relies heavily on shared beliefs, but thrives on diversity. The shared belief that no one is going to save you, no one is going to protect you, but be there for the ones who are for you. This creates three groups for each person. Strangers. Known people. Friends. You treat the first two groups like they want you dead until you can prove they don't, then they're in the last group.

Within this Anarchic age they've faced many times of near monopolies where things get bad, but they always end as the monopoly grows too ambitious or attempts to seek further profit by lowering quality. They die. The only exception so far has been SecuraCorp, but only barely. A new one is forming in the Gate Makers but they're team is so small and so they provide such a unique service that no one even knows if they're being cut short, so it works.

This feels short so;

Option 1: They spent a very long time in the "Flee" and once they established "Survive" things began moving extraordinarily quick, then stalling at the industrial age, falling back to the steel age, then climbing up to the space age.

Option 2: When they achieve the War Lord or Survive stage they're most advanced city is sacked by predators, effectively sending them back to the Flee stage.

Option 3: they have two democratic eras, one is primitive then one is industrial. The primitive one failed due to in fighting.

Actually, there is no reason to not have all 3, it just builds out their history better.
