Old Book Additions

Arduin is a unique government style that is far left, centered, tech tied governance.

The leader of all Monsians is a Chancellor who by law is required to live in a very specifically built city. This city is very small, far away from any other city and citizens aren’t allowed to live within 100 kilometers of the city.

The Chancellor is tasked with settling disputes between cities and managing the IT infrastructure, and maybe some small things I can’t quite think of now. The Monsi knew other aliens were out there a long time ago by simply looking at each of the planets and finding things happening. The Chancellor’s main task will be negotiating with aliens to determine how they’ll interact with us. Monsian society is a closed ecosystem, all systems have been carefully built to ensure everyone reaches the same general conclusion. (masters of propaganda)

There are a few departments that the Chancellor is the button for. All of these departments and the people involved live inside one big city, which has a City Operator. Department Managers

Under the Chancellor falls two groups, rural Monsi and City Operators (CO). Rural Monsi are exactly what they seem like, ordinary citizens that live outside of cities. These people tend to be farmers, hermits, scholars, or artists. They interact and trade with each other as needed but most rural Monsi are self-sufficient.

City Operators do much of the same thing as the Chancellor does, but within their city. They are more of a button for issues and serve as the single point of contact for other City Operators to talk to if some sort of large scale trade is needed.

Departments, both at the Chancellor and CO levels, operate the same way. Different cities may have different departments. A landlocked city wouldn’t have a port authority and a city with no earth natural resources wouldn’t have a Mining Authority

The relationships between Monsi are the glue that holds this system together. Much of it is based on the honor system, mutual respect, and respect for positions of power. Deals are made and one's word is law, failure to uphold one's word shows they do not respect themselves or their place and ought to be cast off their place or destroyed for the lack of respect to themselves.
