Government Structure
Last Update: 12/2/25
The Republic of Astrox is a Democratic Socialist Republic. (DSRA)
Full name: Democratic Socialist Republic of Astrox
There are two branches of Federal government, the executive and Senate
The executive branch has a President, Prime Minister, and Commander. All of these positions are equivalent in power but have different dedicated task. The President is tasked with the economy, the Prime minister the culture and society, and the Commander the military. If one is doing something they shouldn't, the other two can get together to undo a change.
The executive branch also operates its own offices. The President generates Departments, the Prime Minister generates Ministries, and the Commander generates Divisions. These offices then form boards or councils dedicated to specific tasks.
Each of these members are elected, serving 6 year terms with a term limit of 3. Elections are held every two years in a rotation so no one seat is up for election at any time.
Each District within the Republic gets a number of seats. All seats are up for election at the same time, a Senator serves for 10 years and there are no term limits.
To determine the number of seats a District gets:
B + L + P = N
B = Base Value. Different Districts joined the Republic at different times, Founder Districts or Districts that joined before the war get 10 Senators, Districts that voluntarily joined during the war get 5, All other Districts get no base Senators.
L = Loyalty Value. Before each Senatorial Election Cycle the Executives determine which Districts are sufficiently loyal to the Republic. Districts that are unwavering Loyal may be awarded up to 10 Seats whereas Districts that are downright treasonous would get no Seats. Any value in between may be awarded.
P = Population. 1 Senator for each 250K Citizens and 500K Residents.
N = Number of Total Seats.
Laws require a 55% majority vote to pass, which is then sent to the executive branch which will need two out of 3 executive signatures. If it fails it’s sent back to the Senate which then needs 80% majority vote to pass the bill anyway.
Senators are often tasked with sitting on various boards, councils, or committees both within the Senate and even the Executive branch. There is no limit to the number of such groups a Senator can be on.
