Religion

Specific details have not been written, but the general vibe and important plot points have been.

Lore book 0.36 had this being a pantheon and while I don’t dislike the idea, the Vullities already has a pantheon. I’m not sure I want two pantheons.

Lore:

The religion was built as a method to create order in the early civilizations. It was 100% created by a small group of people who would know the truth of it all. They plotted and used advanced technology (At the time, this was thousands of years before the events of Novaris.) to trick the population that magic had happened.

This slowly spreads across the globe, nudged when needed by this elite group. Millennia later a very small group of people still control the religion and know the truth around it. The twist is that some of the more devout and higher ranking members of the religion have recently begun having legitimate miracles occur and this is confusing to the ruling elite but they cannot allow the rest of the religion or the rest of the world to know. For the first time ever they intentionally slow the growth of their religion and sow doubt in the religion, the main goals of founding the religion have been completed. They turned a violent group of people into a proper society and have cultivated just enough power to make important nudges in politics to make grand change.

This is where the religion is at the start of Novaris. The ruling group of the religion is very powerful but doesn’t see the same miracles that the high ranking but not elite members are seeing. The religion as a whole is on a slight decline and has been for the better part of 200 years yet the miracles keep happening, just not as frequently.
