Warfare

The Commandant, one of three in the Executive branch of government, is tasked with two things; keeping the peace at the Federal level and ensuring the security of the Republic from external actors. This gives them charge to develop a military and internal policing that does not interfere with locals but can provide aid if the issue is outside any one District.

Any organization the Commandant creates is a Division; The Intelligence Division conducts spy work abroad and high level information capture internally to prevent anti-Republic actions. The Army Division conducts military actions on land and aboard sea ships. The Navy Division, recently reorganized, now focuses on operating ships both at sea and in space.
